Etsy Treasury

JustBecauseCrafts on Etsy listed me in her treasury featuring items made from plastic canvas. Click here to see it. My item is the long teacher tissue box - it's the first item on the second row.

I'm also a part of a fairly new Etsy team, called the Plastic Canvas team. If any of you are on Etsy and make things out of plastic canvas, you should look it up and join it. Everyone on it is very kind.

Sorry I haven't posted since last Monday, but we were gone all week to visit my in-laws for Thanksgiving. I also only went to 2 stores yesterday and today; because we were gone, I didn't get the fliers for last week's deals. So, this week's deals won't be so good, sorry.

Yesterday we went to Target where I spent $2.98 and saved $2.78. 3 pounds of red apples were on sale for $1.99, and eggs for $.99. I had to fight for every deal I got. The store coupons weren't ringing up, so the cashier manually entered the one for the apples and put the coupons away. I asked about the coupon for the eggs and he said it rang up, but when he checked it hadn't, so he had to manually enter that too. Then, they were out of their $.99 Lunchables. I asked for a rain check, and he didn't know so he asked 2 other people. One didn't think they would give me a rain check, so she checked with someone else, who finally said they would, after I had to prove myself with the ad, current regular price, and date of the ad. That was a lot of time and work, and the people behind me weren't happy. So, they moved to another aisle, and that was one of the people the cashier asked for help, so they still had to wait. I told them I was sorry.

Today I went to Walmart and spent $63.83 and used $3.25 in coupons. $10 was sweatpants for my son to wear during p.e. since it's getting colder now. I had to buy two different sizes because the sizes didn't seem accurate. Then, whatever one fits, I'll have to buy another one because we always have 2 of every p.e. uniform: 1 to wear at school, and 1 to take home and have washed.

Friday night at CVS, I spent $17.58 and saved $12.66. I finally was able to use my rain check for Bausch and Lomb $7.99 + $7.99 in extra bucks to use next time, Fiber One was on sale for $3.99 + $3 extra bucks, and M & M's were 4 for $10 + $3 extra bucks + 2 $1 coupons.

Today at Albertsons, I spent $13.66 and saved $28.60! Ragu pasta sauce was $.99 + 2 coupons for buy pasta sauce and get free pasta, Barilla pasta $.79, and Swanson broth $.44(us and charity). So, for $13.66, I bought 5 pasta sauce, 5 pasta, 12 broth, and 2 breakfast pastries(not on sale, but only $.99 for a box, regular price). Did any of you take advantage of the same sales items?

    I Won a Giveaway

I won the Ramona and Beezus DVD from Freebiesandmuchmore. My 12 year old daughter is so excited! She loved all of the Ramona and Beezus books, so she can't wait to watch the movie.

I love winning giveaways. I don't win them very often, but when I do it's great! Have any of you ever won a giveaway?

Today at Walmart I spent $47.68, but I didn't have any coupons. Most of what I bought was Great Value brand, so there's no coupons for store brands. This shopping trip was pretty good, considering my parents are coming over for dinner tomorrow night. I'm getting better at using what I have in my cupboard to make dinner.

Today at Ralphs, I spent $5.87 and saved $25.10. Now that was a great shopping trip! Tropicans orange juice was on sale for $2(there was supposed to be a coupon for it, but I couldn't find it in my coupon inserts), General Mills cereal $1.49 + 2 - $1 coupons which were doubled and 2 $.75 ecoupons, green beans $.69/pound, rome apples $.99/pound(I've never tried these so I hope they're good), and celery $.69 each.

Vons only had 2 sales items I was interested in, and those items were also on sale for the same price somewhere else, so I didn't shop there today.

Today at Albertsons, I spent $17.82 and saved $26.52. Lunchables were on sale for $1, Dole juice $2.50, zucchini $.99/pound, Betty crocker brownies and cake mix $.49 + $.75 coupons, Betty Crocker frosting $.99, Keebler pie crust $.99 and Quaker cereal $1.49 + $.50 coupon(us & charity). The cashier thought the zucchini were cucumbers, and when I told her zucchini or italian squash, she thought that was funny! I don't know why, but at least it made her laugh. :)

At Fresh and Easy I spent $6.96, and it never lists my savings. 2 pounds of yellow onions were on sale for $.98. I also bought some chocolate pretzels and fruit candies for my kids(those weren't on sale, but the price was good).

At Smart and Final, I spent $13.57 and saved $2.76. Their ice cream was on sale for $2.49, toaster strudels for $1.99, pears for $.99/pound and their 10 pound rice is always a low price $3.59. Now, I thought I was going to save more because on the ad on the computer, I thought the toaster strudels were a 12 count box, not a 6 count. I was wrong, unfortunately, but my son needed them so I bought them anyway because I had a coupon. Well, I never used the coupon! The lady in front of me was buying a lot of things, so the cashier called for another cashier. This new cashier was in a huge hurry, and she had scanned all my items before I made it to the register, so I forgot about my coupon. In fact, she left before I could finish checking my receipt. I noticed she hadn't charged me for the rice, so the other cashier had to call her up again. When I was gathering my things from the cart, I noticed my coupon, but it was too late. Oh well! I feel bad, but I guess that's bound to happen sometimes. Have any of you ever forgot to use a coupon?

Well, I had another good week at Walmart. I only spent $46.36 and had $2.75 in coupons. I didn't have too many groceries to buy, because I'm using a lot of what's in my pantry for dinner. I did have a lot of misc. stuff to buy though, like photo mailers, a frame, and personal care items. Vitamins are expensive - $8.44 for one a day teens, but luckily I had a $2 coupon.

Today at Vons, I spent $5.54 and saved $2.72, which is 33%. Unfortunately, not my usual 50% or more, but I didn't buy much. Cauliflower was on sale for $.99/pound, and sliced olives for $.99.

At Ralphs today, I spent $12.78 and saved $22.91! That's much better. Nabisco crackers were on sale for $.99 + $1 coupon, oranges $.99/pound, Gatorade $.49, Campbell's cream of chicken soup $.49, Pepperidge Farms cookies $1.99 + $1 coupon, and Quaker rice cakes $.99.

At CVS on Friday, I spent $.13 and saved $5.36! V05 shampoo and conditioner was on sale for $.77(charity), and Dawn was on sale for $.97 + $.50 coupon + $1 coupon(us and charity). I also had $2 in extra bucks from last week to use.

At Albertsons today, I spent $21.83 and saved $20.49. Not bad considering 5 of the items I bought were not on sale. Here's what was on sale: Betty Crocker box of potatoes $.79 + $.50 coupon(us + charity), Green Giant vegetables $.39(us + charity), Dole pineapple chunks $.79, Eggo waffles $1.27, and Dryers ice cream $2.99 + $1 coupon.

Yesterday, Albertsons had an 8 hour sale. I spent $6.20 and saved $6.40. Their frozen vegetables were on sale for $.79, bananas $.44/pound, and chocolate chip cookies in the bakery(my husband's favorite) $1.99. There were a lot of people at the store taking advantage of the sale. When I got there, I was lucky because the guy was just re-stocking the frozen vegetables.

Today at Walmart, I spent $46.70 and had $4.75 in coupons. I didn't need too much today, because a lot of the other stores have great sales this week, and I also tried to use what I already had at home for dinner this week.

Today at Vons, I spent $13.76 and saved $28.76, which is 68%! I like it when it's more than 50%! 10 pound potatoes were on sale for $.99, Lucerne sliced American cheese $1.29, Crest toothpaste $1.99 + $1 coupon(charity), a coupon mailed to me by Vons for free pasta sauce, broccoli $.77/pound, their orange juice $1.50, honey crisp apples $.99/pound, cream cheese $.99, Sargento sliced cheese $1.99, and Anthony pasta $.88 + $1 coupon(us and charity). I've never tried honey crisp apples before, so I was surprised by how huge they are. We will all have to share one for a snack!

Today at Ralphs, I spent $4.50 and saved $16.01! My husband was with me because it's his off Friday, and even he noticed that savings! Green beans were on sale for $.88/pound, Gatorade $.49, Campbell's cream of chicken/mushroom soup $.49 + $1.50 ecoupon, Swanson broth $.49, fruit cocktail $.49, and Pringles $.99 + coupon for a free one.

The Target close to me just added a grocery store. To promote themselves, they have some good sales going on. Yesterday I spent $4.46 and saved $3.03. Halloween candy was 30%off so I bought a bag of Autumn mix for $1.74, Betty Crocker brownies were on sale for $.73, a dozen eggs were free with store coupon, and their orange juice was $1.99. The store looked pretty good so I will definitely keep an eye out for their weekly ads now.

At Albertsons I spent $1 and saved $2.38. They had avocadoes on sale for $.50 each. That was it. They didn't have any other sales items I needed.
