Today at Walmart, I spent $62.58 and had $3.75 in coupons. This trip wasn't so bad. I had a few coupons that were going to expire, so I bought a couple of things with them. These are things we use all the time - I didn't just buy them because the coupon was going to expire.
Today at Vons, I spent $9.35 and saved $13.03, which is 58%. Safeway apple juice was on sale for $.97(us and charity), Goldfish for $1(us and charity), and red apples for $.99/pound.
Today at Ralphs, I spent $8.43 and saved $22.82! That was a good shopping trip! Fritos and Cheetos were on sale for $.99, General Mills Cereal for $1.49 + 2 - $.65 coupons which were doubled + $1 coupon + 2 - $.55 ecoupons, and pears for $.79/pound. I also earned 50 extra rewards from online. By the way, I actually got "paid" $.12 for my 2 Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal boxes because of all the coupons!
At CVS yesterday, I spent $.48 and saved $14.31! Bumble Bee tuna was on sale for $.49(us and charity) and I had my rainchecks for 2 for $5 Quaker oatmeal + $1 coupon + $2 in extra bucks to use next time. I also had $4.99 in extra bucks to use. I also had to refill my son's prescription and I had a manufacturer's coupon for his medicine, so I only had to pay $15, instead of $25. Plus, they gave me back the coupon to use for his next refill!
Yesterday, I also saved at Big 5 Sporting Goods. I've needed new tennis shoes for awhile now, and they were finally on sale this week. So, I bought my tennis shoes for $39.99, on sale from $69.99 original price. So, see, you can find deals on things other than just groceries.

Monday Savings
I didn't have time to post this yesterday, so I'm posting it today.
Yesterday at Albertsons I spent $10.54 and saved $5.01. Zucchini was on sale for $.99/pound and Danimals yogurt $2 + $1 coupon. I also had to buy a couple of things that weren't on sale(that's why my savings isn't so good), but luckily I had a $.75 coupon for one of the items.
Fresh and Easy didn't have any items on sale that I needed.

TrueCare Alerts - FINALLY!
In a September post, I mentioned that through BzzAgent, I signed up for a trial of TrueCare. Here's a link to that old post:Sept.23 True Care. In that post I said that luckily I hadn't received any alerts yet about my son's internet activity. Well, much to my surprise, on Oct. 15 I received 3 alerts! At first I was alarmed, and I thought what is he doing or what is someone posting about him? So, I quickly opened my email, and saw that the alerts were dated from activity my son did on facebook on 7/01, 7/13, and 8/16! Luckily, it was nothing to worry about.
This is the first alert: ... Scientists have discovered an ancient whale whose bite ripped huge chunks of flesh out of other whales about 12 million years ago and they've named it after the author of ...
... Giant predatory whale named for 'Moby Dick' author - Yahoo! News ... They were concerned about the words "ripped huge, and Dick(from Moby Dick) from a news article he posted.
This is the second alert: .. Pendleton Brush Fire ... They were concerned about the word "fire" from the news article he posted.
This is the third alert:I just got back from registration, and the people at the counseling office screwed up my schedule. When I went to get it fixed, there was a two hour wait. So I left and now I have to wake up at 6 in the morning tomorrow to go to the counseling office so they can fix my schedule. So far, I am not liking El Camino High School. Anybody have any suggestions as to how I can fix this? ... They were concerned about the word "screwed."
I'm glad that the alerts work and they pay attention to key words, but in his case, they were harmless. Lucky for me that they were harmless since it took 2-3 months to receive an alert about them!

Elmers Glue Pen and Glue Spots Review
Last week, I reviewed Elmer's glue stick and glue tape that I received from a BzzAgent Campaign. Today, I'm reviewing the Elmers Glue Pen and Glue Spots.

This is the glue pen, shown without the lids on. It has 2 different tips: a small cirle for fine lines on the top, and a broad tip on the bottom. The glue held well, but this was hard to use. I had to squeeze it hard to get it started and then it was hard to get it to come out just right - not too hard or not too fast. Below is the project I made using the glue pen.

The next item I tried was the glue spots. There are not very many in the box. There are only 8 thin spots and 8 thick spots. These were very hard to use on pictures. When I tried to put the thin ones on a picture, I ended up with 2 of them, instead of just one.

This is the project I made. Like I said before, I don't think they're really good for just placing a picture. I think they were designed more for making an item really "pop" off the page. These will definitely hold the item in place.

Monday Savings
Friday night at CVS, I spent $.07, and saved $12.84! I think this is my best deal yet! Dawn was on sale for $.97 + $.25 coupon(charity), Gold Emblem chips for $1, Dial Soap for $1.99 + $1 extra bucks for next time, and Colgate Total Advanced $2.99 + $1 coupon + $2.99 extra bucks for next time(charity). I also had $7.70 in extra bucks to use from last time. It was actually $8 extra bucks, but they can't be used to pay for the tax. If it would've been a bigger loss than $.30, I probably wouldn't have used it, but $.30 isn't too bad.
At Fresh and Easy today, I spent $4.99 and saved $1.96. Their apple juice was on sale 2 for $2. I also bought some chocolate covered stick pretzels for $2.99 because my daughter likes them, and she's having her best friend sleep over this weekend for her 12th birthday, so I decided to buy her a treat. That's o.k. sometimes. The cashier was very nice to my 3 year old son. She gave him crayons, a sticker, and a tattoo. She also had one of the stockers go in the back and get him a coloring book. My son was thrilled!
At Albertsons today, I spent $11.86 and saved $8.05. Lunchables were on sale for $1, cream of mushroom soup $.79(us and charity), and Nabisco Vanilla Wafers $2.50. I also bought ice cream cups again, that weren't on sale. I was lucky the Vanilla Wafers were on sale - they weren't on my shopping list, but my 11 year old daughter has a stomach bug(lucky it's this weekend and not next), so I needed to buy them for her.

Friday Savings
Today at Walmart, I spent $53 and had $5 in coupons. Not too bad today. I also was treated very nice by an employee. For 2 weeks I haven't been able to find pocket tissue packs, so I asked for help. He said he was new to the dept. and wasn't familiar with them and couldn't look them up without a UPC. So, I pulled out a tissue pack from my purse(much to his surprise, but he did well hiding it with a smile), and he scanned it. Unfortunately, they don't carry them any more. He was very nice and respectful the entire time, even though he probably thought I was a crazy lady when I whipped out the tissue pack for him to scan. :)
At Vons today I spent $11.06 and saved $13.77, which is 55%. 12 count Poptarts were on sale for $1.88 + $1 coupon, Banana Nut Cheerios $1.99 + $.75 coupon which was doubled, Mission soft taco tortillas $1.29, and Kraft Mac. and cheese $.69(us and charity).
At Ralphs I spent $15.45 and saved $28.36! Strawberries were on sale for $1.25, broccoli and cauliflower $.88/pound, eggs $.99, Hot/Lean Pockets $.99(the lowest I've ever seen), and Eggos for $.99(also the lowest I've seen).

Elmers Glue Stick and Tape Runner Review
As part of a new BzzAgent Campaign, I received a very nice kit of scrapbooking tools from Elmers and Xacto. All of these items are sold at Walmart. Since I received several different tools, I decided to tell you about them a few at a time.

The first one is Elmers Glue Stick. I really liked it. It went on clear and worked fine. It was very quick, easy, and mess-free. Here is a page I created using the glue stick - keep in mind I'm behind 6 years on my scrapbooking.

The second one I tried was Elmers tape runner. This is very similar to a sticky tape I used to have. It is definitely less work than the sticky tape because you don't have to deal with the left over paper strips, but it is definitely more sticky. You have to be sure you're putting the picture exactly where you want it, because it's very difficult to re-position. Which is also a good thing because that means it will stay in place when you're finished.

Here's what it looks like on the back of a picture. It goes on clear.

Here is the project I created with it.

Have any of you tried the Elmers glue stick or tape runner? What do you think about them?

Monday Savings
On Friday at CVS, I spent $1.96 and saved $12.50! They finally had a couple of my rain check items! Blink tears was on sale for $7.99 + $7.99 extra bucks from my rain check + $2 extra bucks because it was also on sale this week. That was lucky! I also found Ivory soap for $.99. I had $4 and $3.50 in extra bucks to use toward this purchase.
Today at Fresh and Easy, I spent $5.96 and it doesn't show my savings. I bought onions on sale for $.98 for 2 pounds. I also bought a half gallon of milk for $1.99(which is cheaper than Albertson's and it's hormone free), and some soft fruit candies like I normally buy at Trader Joes for $2.99. They gave me a coupon book for $5 off $20 or more for the upcoming weeks. I don't know that I'll ever spend that much here, but we'll see how the sales go.
At Albertsons, I spent $24.47 and saved $18.38. Keebler Fudge Shoppe cookies were on sale for $1.75 if you buy 5 + 2 - $1 coupons, Hunts pudding $.88, Hunts ketchup $1.00, Welches juice $2.19 + $.75 coupon. I also had to buy lunchmeat, whipping cream, and ice cream cups, which were not on sale, unfortunately. I did earn 3 more cooking stamps, though.

Today at Walmart I spent $69.12 and had $3.10 in coupons. Thankfully I checked my freezer before I left because my freezer list said I had 10 pork chops and I only have 3. That definitely wouldn't be enough for dinner tomorrow night, with my parents coming over. So, I had to buy some at Walmart and I wasn't happy about it because I thought they weren't on sale; but much to my surprise they were on sale for $3.21/pound! I also bought Reach Floss for a profit. It was on sale for $.97 and I had a $1 coupon. It wouldn't ring up so I told the cashier it was probably because the coupon was for more than the product, but she went ahead and manually entered it for $1. That was lucky!
At Vons I spent $9.69 and saved $13.77, which is 59%. Lucerne Creamery ice cream and Breyers ice cream was on sale for $1.99, and pears for $.99/pound. I was going to buy Dannon 4-pack yogurt for $1.99 + $.55 coupon, but noticed it was on sale at Walmart for $1.92, so I bought it there instead.
At Ralphs I spent $30.77 and saved $40.49. Their Big K 12 pack soda was on sale for $1.77, red grapes $.79/pound, Kelloggs cereal $1.50 + $1 coupon, Red and Golden delicious apples for $.88/lb., Hot/Lean pockets $1.49, Juicy Juice $1.99, Pepperidge Farm swirl bread $1.99, and CapriSun $1.49. I also had a coupon for double points, so I earned 249 reward points! This earning cycle just started Oct. 1 and I've already earned 776 points! Last quarter I didn't earn enough to get any money back, but so far I've earned enough to get $7 back, although this cycle doesn't end until Dec. 31.

My Etsy Shop Reviews
This week My Etsy shop has been featured in 3 blogs! Two of the blogs reviewed an item from my shop and one of the blogs is doing a giveaway with a couple of my items.
The first review is from Becky Chapman and she really wrote a nice review of my patriotic eyeglass case and she included some pictures of other items as well. Here is the link to her blog if you'd like to check out the review, and while you're there enjoy her other blog posts too: My eleven Reasons:Monday's Holiday Shoppe.
The second review is from Maureen. She reviewed my jack-o-lantern tissue box and next week she will review my tooth fairy pillow. She also did a great job writing the review - she even added a cute story about her kids and my tissue box. So, please head on over to her blog and read the review. Also, look around her blog as she has a lot of great giveaways going on right now. Simply Stacie: Halloween Bash Review.
The giveaway is from Amanda. I sent her a candy corn magnet and a Halloween pin to giveaway. She is hosting four different Halloween giveaways, so be sure to check all of them out and enter whichever one you choose, or even all four. My items are featured in the last giveaway, "Frightening Delish and Spooky Decor." Fairy Halloween Giveaway Bash.
If you visit any of these reviews or giveaways, let me know what you think. Also, if you would like to review my shop or host a giveaway with any of my items let me know.

On Friday night at CVS, I spent $.50 and saved $3.25. It would be great if every time worked out like that! Brachs Halloween mix was on sale for $.88, and Dawn for $.96 = $.50 coupon(charity). I also wanted an Oral B Vitality toothbrush, but they were out of stock, so I had to get a raincheck. I used $1.80 in extra bucks from last week to help pay for my purchase. Every quarter, you also earn extra bucks based on a percentage of your purchases. So, for the summer quarter, I received $3.50 in extra bucks.
At Albertsons today, I spent $10.92 and saved $3.20. Zucchini was on sale for $.99/pound(since my garden isn't producing any more), Shopper's Value ice cream $2.50, and Butler Gum toothbrush $1(charity). I paid with a $10 gift card(so I only had to pay $.92) that we received yesterday. Yesterday was Harbor Days in Oceanside, and they were having a special on the San Diego Union Tribune. It's $10 every month for the Thurs. - Sun. delivery, and for signing up, you received a gift - we chose the Albertson's gift card. Thus, my first month is essentially free. We already receive a newspaper, but all the great coupon advice blogs and websites suggest getting more than one paper on the weekends because each one has some different ads and coupons. So, I'll see how it works out and let you know.
I didnt' go to Fresh and Easy this week because they didn't have any sales I was interested in. I didn't go to Smart and Final because I didn't receive their flier again. I'll have to look online sometime and see if it's available there.

Today at Walmart, I spent $40.77 and had a $1 coupon. That wasn't too bad. I mostly needed things for our lunch and snack, and some vegetables. I already had almost everything I need to make dinner this week.
At Vons, I spent $23.88 and saved $17.67, which is 43%. Gatorade was on sale for $.88, boneless beef round steak for $3.49/pound, and toaster strudels for $1.88 + $.50 doubled coupon + 2 - $.50 e-coupons.
At Ralphs, I spent $5.52 and saved $9.82. Barilla pasta was on sale for $.88(us and charity), and Ralphs dressing $1(us and charity).
